admission
St. Helena Montessori adheres strictly to a policy of non-discrimination, and no child will be refused admission solely on the basis of race, color, sex, or national origin. Children are accepted from the age of 2 ½ years through 6+ years for the Primary Class, 6+ through 12 years for Elementary, and 12 through 14 for the Adolescent Program. Children will be accepted to St. Helena Montessori as space is available, with all admissions decisions made at the discretion of the Head of School in concert with class directors/directresses. If a student meets admissions criteria but no space is available, he/she will be placed on a wait list.

application process
Please contact the school office to receive a packet of information (via post or email) about St. Helena Montessori. Once you have had a chance to look through this information, we invite you to begin the formal application process.
primary:
Interested families should contact the school to arrange a conversation with the Head of School and to schedule a Primary classroom observation. Upon receipt of a completed application and application fee, the school will schedule an interview in which both parents, accompanied by the child, will meet with the Head of School and the Class Director/Directress. The purpose of this interview is to determine the child’s readiness for the program, to inform his/her parents of all aspects of the program, and to gain information about the child and about the parents’ expectations of the school.  After the interview, a classroom visit may be scheduled at the Director’s/Directress’ discretion.
elementary:
Interested families should contact the school to arrange a conversation with the Head of School and to schedule a time to observe in the Elementary classroom. Upon receipt of a completed application and application fee, the school will schedule at least one “shadow” day for the student. After the student’s visit, parents must meet with the Head of School and the Elementary Director/Directress.
adolescent program:
Interested families should contact the school to arrange a conversation with the Director and to schedule attendance at an Information Night / Presentation. (Individual presentations are also available.) Parents may then arrange for the prospective student to spend a “shadow” day at the school, after which an application may be submitted.  Upon receipt of a completed application and application fee, two interviews will be scheduled with the Director, one with the student and one with the parents.
